Confession, I have worn this outfit so many times since its creation about a month ago. The boots I was wearing to work broke one day (like the heel literally broke off walking to Starbucks…) and because I had a full day of meetings, I walked my sad, hobbling butt downstairs and bought myself a new pair of booties. Luckily for me, they were on sale and classic black Frye booties that I could wear all the time to justify the price tag. Good news? I have worn them literally at least 3-4 times a week since.
This outfit was the result of me desperately wanting to wear these booties the day after I bought them. It was approximately 40 degrees outside and I had a vendor lunch I had to walk to around noon. Needless to say, it was a tad chilly. However, it was worth the feeling of temporarily freezing. I layered this in my best J. Crew copy cat attempt with a chambray shirt and a gray turtleneck. Such a happy combo that I happened upon! The skirt was a random Banana Republic sale find around my birthday and I have worn it way more than I expected. The cut is so flattering and the lace has a little sexy touch without being too over the top for daytime wear. Plus it will transition so great into Spring/Summer. It was windy outside when I wore the outfit for this post, so I did the classic turtleneck hair tuck and am happy to pretend I’m a J. Crew model for a just a moment longer.
