Classic post round 2! Skinnies have been the hotness for a long while now, and while I’m def pro skinny jean (I mean, unless I’m trying to eat…#feelme?), I am loving the flare trend on the rise! The 70s knew what they were doing, y’all… lean, mean fighting machine! Ohh wait… that’s something else… But actually, flares are so flattering!! (But more on this in a future post because I just scored some major high waisted flare stunners!) I definitely think flares need to be moved from trendy to classic because they really are timeless when done correctly (aka minus any bedazzling, cray stitching, etc.) I paired these basic flares with one of my favorite sweaters that I bought last winter. It has the perfect size turtleneck- not too tall and not too tight, and is so, so cozy and warm. It layers easily and I’ve worn it with jeans, skirts, and dresses alike. Major love. I popped on a bright red lip for a little color and this LOC lipstick is seriously the easiest thing to use. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a low maintenance red!

There’s no denying that I’m a girl that’s in love with classic things. Shoot, my name is essential, classic English – “Elizabeth Anne Allensworth” (until you throw my married name, Merino in there, but hey, funk it up, ya know?) So when I saw this chunky, deep red, cable turtleneck sweater at Zara, I knew it had my name all over it. Y’all, I cannot tell you how luscious this darling sweater is.. Seriously, it’s wearing a blanket but way more acceptable than a snuggie. It’s insanely warm and I’m beyond obsessed. I highly, highly recommend it.
Now, let’s talk about this background. Beauty me, oh beauty my. This stunner is lovingly called “the slab” by my husband’s cousin and family, and it is beyond more pretty than I thought. There’s natural little creeks, dips, mini water falls, and the most incredible sunset.
I love the vest trend that is currently happening. I’ve had a black structured vest for several years now and it is one of my most worn and beloved items. I feel chic on a day when I wake up feeling blah and it gives me this pseudo feeling of power that is primo for tackling the work week or meeting new people. This soft, unstructured version is so rad. It is long and swoops in the wind like a boss. We wanted to highlight the vest, so I kept the styling pretty basic here, but you could totally rock some layers and have Man Repeller vibes all over the place. #goals
Happy New Year + welcome to 2016! 2015 was a pretty fun year exploring the blog world and I’m ready to make 2016 an awesome one! Thanks to everyone who reads, comments, likes and shares the love. I really appreciate every one of you for taking the time.
Today’s post is one I’m really pumped about. 1) This fringe vest is to die for #fringefordays 2) There’s an awesome giveaway at the bottom of the post!
I have been so excited to post these images! We shot in Bishop Arts, which I love more each time I go hang out there. If you haven’t been and live in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, then you need to go! There are some amazing restaurants- DJ and I went to Hattie’s for our birthday dinner and it was amazing- and Emporium Pies deserves its own stop as well!
So about this outfit… I am obsessed with this fringe vest from LYMMA boutique! The neutral color blocking makes it easy to pair with any color you want and the texture is seriously divine. The fringe keeps the vest modern, young and a little rock and roll. It was chilly when we shot this look, so I did light layering with my favorite J. Crew tissue thin turtleneck and wore my go-to high waisted black skinnies. So much love! PS this vest is only $29.99! How budget friendly is that! And you guys- it looks and feels SO much more expensive than that! Double love!
