I remember several years ago (omg was it really that long??) when chambray was the hottest thing since sliced bread. Finding the perfect shirt was a mission and your wardrobe was not complete without one. I must say I’m glad this fashion staple has not disappeared, as it is such a go-to of mine. I currently have two different ones, and used to have a third, but the poor thing had to be retired. I pulled this outfit together one Sunday morning when I had some errands to run (and a husband’s birthday to shop for!) It was perfect- deceivingly comfortable and pulled together chic. Second day (okay maybe more..) makes for a playful pony and a monochromatic beauty look in red hues create attention and brighten the face. Yay!

I’m a big online shopping browser, but there something I love about actually being the store and feeling that fabric that keeps me from shopping as frequently online. One major exception to this is The Reformation, or more importantly, the recent blowout sale at The Reformation. My friend and I IM’ed each other constantly, sending new found items that we had to have. This dress became and instant fave and a total steal. It’s SO comfy and the perfect throw on and go dress. Bonus points for the low back that is adorable. It will remain warm enough in Texas to wear this for a while longer, but I think I can layer it up for fall. Excuse the crazy lighting in these pictures- sunset on the bay in San Diego is a funny thing for picture taking, but I figured the view made up for it!!
<< aaaand we’re off! >> Taking a style break to revisit my recent trip to San Diego with my husband’s family. Y’all. Talk about an AMAZING trip! The weather is positively dreamy, I got a beautiful tan, plus every view is more breathtaking than the last. Seriously, leaving was the hardest thing and I want to go back ASAP (in full support of my mother-in law’s new desire to go back for next summer’s vacay. #gomartha) In all seriousness, it was a truly wonderful weekend full of love and celebration and we had the best time. Hope you all enjoy the pictures! xoxo-e
Every season, trends come and go. However, each season, there are trends that are always relevant. For example, florals are always a trend for spring, and white is a chic winter color. One fall trend that has been reoccurring that I really love is the bordeaux color trend. Wine, bordeaux, maroon, claret, burgundy, whatever way you spin it, I’m going to wear it. Now… this may be against my burnt orange loving, Longhorn wearing religion, but I do love the rich color. So while I may not wear it on game day, I do love it for life (and lips!) This silk Theory dress was something I found on sale at Neiman Marcus and I’m so glad I scooped up. First off, it’s so comfy!! Plus, it’s so versatile. The lightweight fabric makes it appropriate for spring/summer, while the knee length cut will make it perfect for fall – I’m thinking tall boots and a leather jacket! Bonus points?! It paired perfectly with my amazing makeup done by Em Smith and my fresh cut by Hair by Charlie. Yay for feeling your most beautiful and best self!
**Be sure to check out all my makeup details in my previous posts HERE and HERE. Big thank you to Em Smith for the amazing makeup! Be sure to check her out HERE (and if you’re in Dallas, book her for your next event, you won’t be sorry!! ) xoxxo -e
Getting all dolled up can be so fun (especially when someone else does it for you!) and I wanted to share some behind the scenes action of my recent collaboration with Em Smith. These images show some fun images of the process and all the shenanigans that went into the tutorial. If you haven’t seen the post, go check it out here! There’s two tutorials on how to get the perfect fall lip for any occasion (or time limit!)
What fall lip color is your go-to? Or is there any trend that you’d like to learn? Let me know, as Em and I are planning a future collaboration!
