While I am a plans girl all the way, I love when impromptu photo sessions can be captured quick and easy. This was taken walking out of work one day when my co-worker offered to take my picture (she’s the best!) I should mention that I am in head-to-toe J. Crew (again) and no I am not being paid. I’m just basically a walking billboard.. sue me. This pale pink swingy skirt has become a summer staple. I’ve literally worn it once a week; don’t tell the fashion police. The floral top is several seasons old, but I found a current one that I think is super fun and would be easy to pair with a skirt or boyfriend jeans. I love adding a third piece and this denim vest pretty much goes with everything. With this outfit, I like how it added a little “cool girl” factor so that the outfit wasn’t too sweet. To complement the outfit, I did pale pink lips and cheek with a little gold sheen on the cheek and eyes. Easy, breezy!

Red is such a power color and when my mom called out “Elizabeth, look at this!” from across the Banana Republic store, I was both excited and extremely proud of the fashion senses my mom was throwing out! Seriously this moto inspired structured red jacket is so amazing that I squeezed into an XS because when a clearance item is 50%, do you really need to move your arms above your head? No. I was wearing cut offs and a white collared shirt when we found this jacket and I transitioned that feel to work wear one day when we had an after hours Happy Hour that I wanted to look cute for (but also wanted to be laidback) and this was perfect. The relaxed boyfriend jeans pair perfectly with the structure of the jacket and the girly, feminine shoes add an unexpected twist (plus, it makes me feel like Carrie Bradshaw, my spirit animal and style guru, duh.)
After all the rain we’ve had in Dallas, I was so excited to finally break out a crop top! Summer is finally here! (Okay, not officially on a calendar, but the sunshine is out and that’s good enough for me!) I love the crop top trend and am so happy that it is here to stay for the summer season. While I can’t wear this trend as often as I’d truly like (the office space doesn’t quite agree with the dress code of the Texas heat, man!), I do get excited to break it out on the weekends. I love how the eyelet on this particular crop adds extra texture to this flirty and feminine ensemble. Also- the shoes! A new purchase from J. Crew (ps. they’re on sale!) they have quickly become one of my faves! They are crazy easy to walk in and I was able to wear them all day while running around at work this week without any aches and pains. Fab!
While I love a good skinny jean (I have tons!), I am really obsessed with the boyfriend jean movement. All that eating room for Mexican food and margz! …. #amiright? I have a pair of light washed distressed jeans that have been in rotation for awhile, but was on the hunt for a dark pair I could wear to work when styled appropriately. These from J. Crew were on sale and are so comfy. At first, I was a little hesitant of mommy butt, but now I have full embraced the sag and love these just as much with cami and pumps as I do with a muscle tee and my New Balance sneaks. How do you style your boyfriend jeans?
So confession time.. I love J. Crew. I mean really, truly, love in a sick obsessed way. I stalk their sales, feel truly loved when they send me emails and follow their style guides like I do with the fashion blogs I follow religiously. It’s a disease. Luckily, it’s a beautiful one that makes me happy and makes so many of my fashion dreams come true. This outfit is 90% J. Crew. Everything on my body, aside from my wedding ring and tee, is from J. Crew and I got it all on KILLER SALE! I have been after these cargo pants since they first came out in a New Arrivals email from J. Crew and I finally snagged them for myself (ps. they are on sale! go, go!) They are so comfy, have a nice stretch and I can tell they will be just as stunning slouchy and worn in as they are fitted on the first wear. (Yes, I waited to wear these guys for this pic.. I told you, I was really excited…) The tank has been in my closet for several years; picked up at a local boutique in Austin, TX, Beehive, it is a staple for me and wear it on rotation every weekend. But I have been coveting the Sincerely, Jules version and would definitely get love to get that one as well! Mules are so ‘of the moment’ but I love them. I can’t wait to wear these all summer long. I added a little texture with my J. Crew embroidered bracelets and like to pile them on to casual outfits that need a little oomf.
Shirt (old, love this one from Sincerely, Jules), Cargo Pants (J. Crew, on sale!), Shoes (J. Crew, on sale!), Bag (J. Crew, similar here), Bracelets (J. Crew, sold out, but also love this and this), Collar Necklace (J. Crew). Ring (David Yurman)
